Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To have sure, automated bi-directional sorting with a conveyor used in a baking plant by furnishing a push-out plate between the upper stream conveyor and the bi-directional downstream conveyor in such a way as capable of being driven along a square locus in a vertical plane right across the transport direction. CONSTITUTION:A push-out plate 33 for bread etc. is moved by upper and lower sorting chain-conveyors, not illustrated, along a square locus composed of such four members as a first as in the direction shown by the arrow, a second as in the direction going apart from the mount 10 right across this sheet, a third as in the direction opposite to the arrow, and a fourth as in the direction approaching the mount 10. Accordingly the bread sorted by the upper stream conveyor 2 to be sent to a cross bar conveyor 7 is transferred selectively to the downstream cross conveyor 5, while the push-out plate 33 is moving in the first member direction, and to another cross conveyor 4 while it is moving in the third member direction. Thus sorting can be ensured automatically by setting the bread speed, roller chain length and revolving speed to appropriate values.
