Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To decrease the insulation resistance of an oriented film made of an organic high polymer excellently with a small quantity of an additive and to prevent an electric double layer from being formed on the interface of liquid crystal by dispersing fine powder of specifically conductive carbon into the oriented film. CONSTITUTION:The fine powder 6 of refined conductive carbon is distributed uniformly in the oriented film 3 made of the organic high polymer. This fine powder 6 uses one kind among graphite, acetylene black, furnace black, and channel black or optional mixture. This liquid-crystal display element has a transparent electrode 2 of tin oxide on a transparent glass substrate 1 and is provided with said film 3. This substrate 1 set opposite to another substrate of the same kind, liquid crystal 4 is injected into the gap, and the circumference is sealed with a seal material 5. The insulation resistance of the film 3 is decreased easily by adding a small amoung of carbon fine powder to prevent an electric double layer from being formed at the boundary between the film 3 and liquid crystal 4.
