Printing quality judging apparatus

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To provide an apparatus capable of judging printing quality in the hammer unit of an impact printer, constituted by mounting a function for measuring the character line width of a printing pattern on the basis of the sweep time of a recognition sensor to compare the measured value with a standard time and outputting excess and deficiency along with a corresponding column position. CONSTITUTION:A predetermined printing pattern (e.g., a character H) 2 is printed in the width direction of printing paper at predetermined intervals. After the printing paper 1 is fed to a certain position of a recognition sensor 4 by a paper feed apparatus 3, the recognition sensor 4 is swept from one end of the printing paper to the other end thereof by sweep apparatuses 5a-5d. In this case, a character line width is measured in the unit of a sweep time by the recognition sensor 4 and the time thereof is compared with a standard time by a buffer register 6 and the excess and deficiency result thereof is outputted along a corresponding column position to display the output thereof.
