Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To aim at enhancing the effect of rectifying, by arranging the upstream edge section of a rectifier plate in a uniform stream position where no prewhirl is present in an intake passage, and as well by forming the downstream edge section of the rectifier plate in such a shape that water stream is made uniformly prewhirl over the entire periphery of the inlet impeller and flow into the impeller. CONSTITUTION:There is provided a rectifier plate 7 dividing a volute-shape intake-passage 5 for introducing water into an impeller 1, into a plurality of sections along the inflow direction of water stream. Further, the upstream edge section 9 of the rectifier plate 7 is arranged in a uniform stream position where no prewhirl is present in the intake passage 5, and the downstream edge section 9 of the rectifier plate 7 is formed in such a shape that the water stream is made uniformly prewhirl over the entire periphery of the inlet of the impeller 1 and uniformly flows into the impeller 1. With this arrangement, the water stream flows into the impeller 1, uniformly over the entire periphery of the impeller 1. Accordingly, no inflow rate in a local section of the impeller 1 becomes excessive so that the occurrence of cavitation may be prevented.
