Rotor housing of rotary piston engine
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE:To realize improving the effect of lubrication for sliding face of an apex seal by providing, by means of photoetching method, a large number of oil holding concave parts with nearly letter U-shaped section on a trochoid face of a rotor housing. CONSTITUTION:Oil holding concave parts 14..., independent of each other with a nearly letter U-shaped section and also a circular opening, are engraved by means of photoetching method covering the whole trochoid face 1a of a rotor housing 1 lengthwise and crosswise at a constant pitch interval. Further, a plateau part 15 between each concave part 14 is formed to have surface roughness below 1mu. Due to this, an always stabilized oil film can be formed on the trochoid face and the effect of lubrication of an apex seal sliding face is improved so that its life can be lengthened. Further, since the section of the concave part 14 is formed nearly letter U-like, decrease of area ratio with abrasion of the trochoid face 1a is small and characteristic of initial sliding can be maintained for a long period.
