Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To set assuredly an image plane and to attain weight and size reduction by varying the size of the frame of the 1st window according to the view angle of a zoom lens as to the viewfinder of a video camera. CONSTITUTION:The current view angle of the zoom lens 2 of an automatic focusing type video camera body 1 is detected by view angle detecting means 20, 20a, and 21-25 of a rotary switch 15, etc., associated operatively with the view angle varying ring 3 of said lens 2, and the 1st window 4 is arranged on the video camera body 1 at the position opposite to a subject where the size of the window frame 8 varies with the detected view angle. Then, the 2nd window 5 is arranged on the main body 1 opposite to the window 4 so that the subject in the window frame is viewed. Thus, the range of the subject image plane in the frame of the window 4 which is viewed through the window 5 is made coincident with the range of the subject image plane picked up by the image pickup part of an image pickup element, etc.
