Process for operating plug flow type digestion tank
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE:To improve overall treating efficiency of a digestion tank by detecting the amt. of digestion gas generated from each digestion chamber divided to plural numbers of chamber individually, and increasing the amt. of sludge to be digested to the digestion chamber generating small amt. of digestion gas. CONSTITUTION:Raw sludge 3 is charged to a digestion chamber 2 at one end and the sludge 4 to be treated in each digestion chamber 2 overflows successively from the digestion chamber 2 at one end toward the digestion chamber 2 at another end. Digested sludge 5 and eliminated liquid 6 are drawn out of the digestion chamber 2 at another end, and the digested sludge 5 is returned to each digestion chamber 2 through a returning pump 7. The digestion gas 8 generated in each digestion chamber 2 is drawn out of each digestion chamber 2 and collected in a gas tank; the gas is detected by a digestion gas detecting device 10 provided to the midway of drawing pipe. The detection signal is inputted to a controlling device 12 for an automatic ON/OFF valve 11. By the operation of the controlling device 12, the amt. of the digested sludge 5 to be returned to the digestion chamber 2 is increased if the amt. of digestion gas 8 generated there is small.
