Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To control the operation of an air conditioner by providing a temperature sensitive element for sensing the temperature of the environment and an infrared ray emitting unit which transmits temperature value from the element to a photoreceptor of an air conditioner body in a remote controller, thereby inputting the data to the body. CONSTITUTION:A transmission control unit 6 of a remote controller inputs a room temperature based on a temperature sensitive element 1 through an A/D converter 3 at every prescribed period, outputs a signal of the temperature value data to an infrared ray emitting unit 6, and infrared ray emitting elements 7, 8 emit lights. A photoreceptor 11 of an air conditioner body receives a light signal transmitted in a serial data, a data converter 16 converts it into parallel data, which are inputted to a microcomputer 17, which compares it with the set room temperature value set by a drive operation unit 4 of the remote controller to control the operation of a compressor 18 by a motor cycle. Simultaneously, this room temperature value is indicated by an indicator 21.
