Method for treating reverse side of flooring material
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE:To obtain a flooring material free from irritation to the skin and resistant to peeling during use, by laminating a fibrous backing material containing glass fibers to a flooring material, applying a plastic or an emulsion to the bonding face of the flooring material, and pressing the material under squeezing, thereby flattening the glass fibers and fixing sporadically with each other. CONSTITUTION:The flooring material 1 is laminated with a fibrous backing layer 3 containing glass fibers of 8-15mu diameter and 10-20mm. length. The face of the flooring material to be bonded to the floor is coated with a plastic or an emulsion 7, e.g. a non-crosslinking or self-crosslinking acrylic emulsion composed of the copolymer of (meth) acrylic acid or their esters, or a PVC latex, etc., and the flooring material is squeezed e.g. with a doctor blade, etc., and dried to flatten the glass fibers protruded from the surface and to fix the fibers 7 sporadically.
