Wet spinning for flax fiber

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To enable high-speed spinning of flax fiber without causing end breakage, by cleaning the peripheral surface of front bottom roller in a main draft zone by jetting a gas flow so that it prevents the flax fiber from winding itself round the rollers. CONSTITUTION:The fiber bundle Y of flax fiber is wetted by the water nozzle 1 first, and drafted mainly by the back rollers 4 and 4', and the front rollers 5 and 5' in the predraft zone 2. In the operation, the peripheral surface of the front bottom roller 8' in the main draft zone 3 is sprayed with an air flow jetted from the cleaning nozzle 9 for the air flow, so that the peripheral surface is cleaned. The drafted fiber bundle Y is immediately twisted falsely to give the yarn Y', which is dried and wound.
