Purifying vessel for gaseous hydrogen
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE:To obtain gaseous hydrogen having high purity quickly by building-in a hydrogen occluding alloy in an internal pipe and an external pipe constructed separately forming a double tube structure and allowing the pipes to perform occlusion and liberation of gaseous hydrogen alternately utilizing the heat of occlusion and the heat of liberation of the hydrogen. CONSTITUTION:An internal vessel 6 capable of performing heat exchange and provided with a hydrogen feed pipe 4 and a hydrogen liberating pipe 5 is fitted to the inside of an external vessel 1 provided with a hydrogen feed pipe 2 and a hydrogen liberating pipe 3, both provided with valves 11-14. Hydrogen occluding alloys 9, 10 are housed in the vessels 1, 6. Gaseous hydrogen is occluded by the alloy 10 in the vessel 6 by opening the valve 12. The alloy 9 in the vessel 1 is heated simultaneously by the heat of occlusion generated thereby, and gaseous hydrogen having high purity is liberated from the alloy 9 by opening the valve 13. Thereafter, the valves 14, 13 are closed and the valve 11 is opened, and hydrogen is fed to the alloy 9 in the vessel 1 to cause occlusion. The alloy 10 in the vessel 6 is heated thereby by the heat of occlusion, and hydrogen is liberated by opening the valve 14.
