Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To improve developing density and to prevent scumming by adding hydrohobic silica as fluidity improver to toner powder contg. a binder resin and wax having <=4 penetration to obtain thus improved developability and fixing effect. CONSTITUTION:Toner powder is prepd. by adding wax having <=4 penetration determined in accordance with JIS, colorant, and other necessary components to binder resin particles. A toner for the development of electrostatic charge image is constituted by admixing further a fluidity improver to the toner powder. The amt. of the wax to be used is pref. 1-20wt% basing on the total amt. of the toner. Among several products of wax available from several makers, those having 60-150 deg.C m.p. are suited to obtain fixing effect at low temp. Alumina, titanium oxide, talc, metal salt of stearic acid, etc. are suitable as the fluidity improver, and preferred amt. to be used is 0.01-10wt%. By this method, the releasing property of the toner is improved; the coagulation of the toner is prevented, and satisfactory development and fixing are achieved.
