Method for registering position of mobile station

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To reduce the retrieval time and incoming call losses by avoiding the retrieval when a notice indicates that a radio zone does not exist at a boundary part of a position registration zone in a mobile communication system setting a base station at each radio zone. CONSTITUTION:A control channel common to radio zones 3a-3c is provided at position registration zones 2a-2c respectively and also an exclusive control channel is provided to the radio zones 3a-3c. Whether or not a radio zone belongs to the boundary part of the position registration zone is informed from base stations 4a-4c to a mobile station 6 by using the control channel for exclusive use of the radio zones. The mobile station 6 decides whether or not the retrieval for position registration is executed according to the notice information.
