Exhaust turbine in turbo-supercharger
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE:To raise the supercharged pressure in the low speed range of an engine, by opening a control valve when the rotational speed of the engine increases. CONSTITUTION:The inlet passage 10 of a turbine housing 9 communicated with a turbine chamber 6 is parted into first passage 101 and a second passage 102 either one of which is provided therein with a control valve 14. This control valve 14 is controlled such that it opens when the rotational speed of the engine increases and grudually increases its valve opening degree. With this arrangement, the supercharged pressure in the low rotational speed range of the engine may be raised to increase torque upon low speed operation, and therefore, the characteristics of supercharged pressure of desirable form may be obtained extending over from the low speed to high speed rotational ranges. Further, it is possible to aim at enhancing the snap response and as well the response from deceleration to acceleration.
