Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To prevent whitening of underlying films and disconnection of transparent conductive films in high-temp. and high-humidity environment by making the nonvolatile solid component of the silicone resin in the underlying film of a liquid crystal display element 1/2 the nonvolatile solid component of a melamine resin. CONSTITUTION:Underlying films 12 are provided on a pair of plastic film substrates 11 facing each other and transparent conductive films 2 and oriented films 3 are laminated thereon. A liquid crystal 5 is disposed between the substrates and the periphery thereof is sealed by a sealant 6. Polarizing plates 7 are further disposed on the outside surfaces of the substrates 11. The films 12 are made of the polymer blend obtd. by mixing a melamine resin and a silicone resin and the nonvolatile solid component of the silicone resin is made 1/2 the nonvolatile solid component of the melamine resin.
