Preparation of laminate
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE:To prepare laminates having high interfacial adhesion, without using adhesives, at low cost and efficiently, by treating a thermoplastic by corona discharge and laminating with materials other than thermoplastics. CONSTITUTION:A thermoplastic is treated by a glow discharge at a temp. not less than the m.p. or softening point of the resin, and then laminated with materials other than thermoplastics. Said materials other than thermoplastics include cellulose-based resins, metals, paper, cloth, rubber, woods, ceramics, etc. The glow discharge may be applied to thermoplastics at a temp. of 5-10 deg.C above the m.p. or softening point of the resin, and the temp. is properly determined according to kinds, forms, molding procedures, treatments, etc. of the resin. Various types of stabilizers, fillers, reinforcers, rubbers, slipping agents, antistatic agents, plasticizers, colorants, etc. can be added to the thermoplastics, as necessary.
