Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To attain stable loading by providing a simple mechanism utilizing a pneumatic pressure so as to displace temporarily a negative pressure magnetic head slider onto a magnetic disc face. CONSTITUTION:An UP negative pressure slider 1 and a DN negative slider 2 are supported normally with support springs 3, 4 respectively to an unload position from magnetic disc media 7, 8 in stop state with a space. When the magnetic disc media 7, 8 are started and reach a steady-state high speed, air is jetted temporarily between both the support springs 3, 4 via an air flowing hole 6 of an arm part 5 from a pneumatic pressure generator and a pneumatic pressure is generated. Then the support springs 3, 4 are displaced respectively to the magnetic media 7, 8 and the UP negative pressure slider 1 and the DN negative pressure slider 2 are moved in a self-load gap to the magnetic disc media 7, 8. Thus, the UP negative pressure slider 1 and the DN negative pressure slider 2 are maintained with a proper floating gap balanced to the negative pressure absorbing force and the positive pressure floating force over the spring force of the support springs 3, 4 on the magnetic disc media 7, 8 and loaded stably by the hysteresis floating characteristic.
