Piezoelectric actuator

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To protect a piezoelectric body from breaking at the time of repeated operation as well as the fixed end of the piezoelectric body from peeling-off by a method wherein one end or both ends of the piezoelectric body is connected to a plate-shaped coupling member. CONSTITUTION:The lower end of a piezoelectric body 2 is fixed on a connecting member 14, which has been connected to mounting member 1 with metal plates 15 and has been integrally formed in one body with the mounting member 1. In such a constitution, even when a reaction force, which is transferred to the member 14 at the operating time, includes a component to apply a bending stress to the piezoelectric body 2, the stress concentrates in the members 15 and is made to bend, and the bending stress, which is applied to the piezoelectric body 2, is remarkably reduced. As a result, the breaking of the piezoelectric body 2 and the peeling-off of the fixed end of the piezoelectric body 2 are not caused at the time of repeated operation.
