Magneto-resistance effect type magnetic head

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To obtain a reproduction signal which is free from distortions by extracting an output obtained by the linear dynamic characteristics equivalent to differentiation of the dynamic characteristics obtained by an original secondary curve of an MR magnetism-sensitive part. CONSTITUTION:When an external magnetic field (signal magnetic field plus bias magnetic field) is applied to an MR magnetism-sensitive part 5, an output is obtained at a point B after giving the amplitude of modulation to a carrier of frequency fC with a signal. Then an output corresponding to the signal magnetic field is obtained at the output terminal 15. With use of such a magnetic head device, an output is obtained by the linear dynamic characteristics equivalent to differentiation of the dynamic characteristics of an original secondary curve of the part 5. This can eliminate distortions out of a reproduction output. The fixed component of the resistance of the part 5 depends on the characteristics obtained by differentiating the dynamic characteristic curve of the part 5. Therefore the effect of the dependence of said fixed component can be eliminated even though the fixed component has large temperature dependence. As a result, the temperature drift can be extremely reduced.
