Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To increase display area and hold the gap between electrode substrates uniform by arranging a dispersion area of a spacer for holding the gap between the electrode substrates uniform at a liquid crystal sealing opening. CONSTITUTION:A seal material 5 is provided with a nondispersion area 6 and the spacer dispersion area 7 where the spacer is dispersed connects with the sealing opening 4. Glass fiber powder which has a 5-12mum uniform diameter and an about 20-200mum thickness is mixed with a 100g solvent of 10-50mg isopropyl alcohol, etc., a mask is arranged on internal surface of the electrode substrates 2 and 3, and air is sprayed at 0.1-0.5kg/cm<2> for several seconds. Thus, the area 7 is arranged successively to the sealing opening 4, so even if the inside of a decompression container 8 is returned to the atmospheric pressure when the liquid crystal 9 is injected, the gap near the sealing opening 4 is prevented from decreasing temporarily and the moving speed of the liquid crystal 9 does not decreases.
