Door mirror structure
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE:To hold regular orientation of a door mirror and to reduce the size and the height of a driving device, by a method wherein while an electric motor for rotating a mirror housing is in a rest condition, the rotation of the mirror housing is locked, and during running of the electric motor, it is automatically released from locking. CONSTITUTION:In a device having a mirror housing rotatably supported to a mirror base secured to a car body, a tubular shaft 6 is secured to a bracket 2a formed integrally with the mirror base, and a bearing block 1a formed integrally with the mirror housing is rotatably supported by means of said shaft 6. Through rotation of a driving gear 10 with the aid of a motor M, said gear 10 is revolved around a driven gear 22 to rotate a bearing block 1a. When the mirror housing is rotated to a desired angle position, the motor M is brought to a stop by means of a limit switch, not shown, which is engaged with a cam 13. Simultaneously, a stopper lever 15 is lowered with the aid of another motor, and steel ball 16 is pressed down in a recess 6a-1 to lock the rotation of the mirror housing.
