Molding of hollow body made of fiber-reinforced plastics
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE:To obtain a highly rigid CFRP hollow body without changes in the thickness and with little scraping of a reinforced fiber by surface working by interposing and forming a metal die material having an angle equal to a corner section between an inner die and a molding material with the promoted fluidization of the resin at the corner section making up for the rigidity of the inner die. CONSTITUTION:A metal die material 3 having an angle equal to the corner section of an outer die 1 is interposed and formed between an inner die 4 expandable by an internal pressure and a molding material 2 with the promoted fluidization of resin at the corner section making up for the rigidity of the inner die 4. Thus, an FRP hollow body without changes in the thickness is obtained from this section. When the internal surface requiring a even higher dimensional accuracy and smoothness can be obtain by mechanical grinding, the corner section is molded being pressurized sufficiently. This reduces the number of working steps to eleminate drop in the rigidity of the corner section with little damage to the reinforced fiber.
