Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To smooth the combustion of an internal-combustion engine and reduce the generation of explosive noises by using an injection valve to be controlled for opening and closing by the extension and contraction of an electric strain type actuator for giving several openings and closings to the injection valve for a single combustion of the engine. CONSTITUTION:High pressure fuel from an accumulator 3 is injected into a Diesel engine 8 from an injection valve 1 to be opened and closed by an electric strain type actuator 2, while the electric strain type actuator 2 controls an added voltage by means of a control unit 4. The control unit 4 is constructed to generate a control signal composed of the first and the second injection time obtained by dividing an injection time into two with an injection stoppage time between. The lower the speed is, the lower the load is, the lower the temperatures of suction air and cooling water are, or the lower the rotational speed of the engine is, the greater the injection stoppage time is controlled. The second injection time is controlled to be longer than the first one.
