Coordinate input device

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To control accurately a minute shift of the cursor position by providing a changeover switch for proportionality factor to a coordinate input device. CONSTITUTION:The pulses proportional to the revolving angles of X and Y axis directions are generated by rotary encoders 62 and 64 in accordance with the revolution of a ball 2 of a coordinate input device. These pulses are counted by reversible counters 26 and 27 of X and Y axes respectively. A switch circuit 28 detects the state of a coordinate designation switch 3. Here a changeover switch 51 is provided to switch pulse generating circuits 33 and 72 of encoders 62 and 64 through a selector 73. Thus different output signals are devlivered. Therefore slits 71 and 32 are formed on a rotary disk 31, and the number of slits 71 is set for example, twice as much as that of slits 32. Thus the ratio can be changed to the shift amount.
