Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To prevent the breakdown of parts as well as malfunctions of an ROM cartridge when it is loaded or unloaded by connecting at least two terminals to each other within a substrate and at the same time setting these terminals more inside than other terminals when viewed from the edge face of the substrate for said cartridge containing plural terminals set at the end part of the substrate. CONSTITUTION:It is checked whether terminals 41 and 42 of the circuit provided to a personal computer main body, etc. conduct or not. A conduction detecting circuit 50 works when these terminals conduct, and a control circuit 60 turns on a power supply circuit 70 when the circuit 50 works. If a substrate 12 is loaded with just a small tilt, the terminal close to a terminal Tn has sometimes an incomplete contact. In such a case, a power supply circuit 70 is not turned on even through a terminal T1 has a contact with the conduction part of a slot 30 since the terminal Tn has no contact. This can prevent the breakdown of parts as well as malfunctions. This effect is also secured from the same reason even in case the substrate 12 is loaded with a lower right tilt.
