Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To position the rotation center of a disc-shaped recording medium stably and surely with a high precision to set this medium to a disc device body by providing a centering hub consisting of elastic materials in the rotation center part of the disc-shaped recording medium and providing a flange part, when the circumferential edge part of this hub is brought closely into contact with and is held on, on a spindle which gives a rotation driving force through this hub. CONSTITUTION:When a recording medium 11 is set to a spindle 13, a hole part 16a of a centering hub 15 is fitted to a projecting part 18a of the spindle 13 on the way of its taper. Therefore, the recording medium 11 is positioned accurately to the spindle 13. At this time, a hole part 16b for transmission of the rotation driving force is fitted to a projection 18b provided in the circumferential edge part of a flange 19 of the spindle 13. A hub 15 consisting of a magnetic material is attracted to a magnet buried in this flange part 19, and only its circumferential edge part is brought closely into contact with the flange surface and is held, and the part around the hole part 16a is deformed elastically in the axial direction of rotation. As the result, the hole part 16a is pressed more closely to the projection 18a, and the recording medium 11 is held on the spindle 13 more stably.
