Optical branching device
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE:To branch and lead out a part of light energy out of a photoconductor rod by constituting a device in such a way that the 2nd and the 3rd rods is fixed in the through holes of the 1st photoconductor rod while a specific gap is left with slanting surfaces and optical oil is enclosed in the gap. CONSTITUTION:Photoconductor rods 2 and 3 are arranged in the through hole of the 1st photoconductor rod 1 while the specific gap (d) is left, and optical oil is injected into and discharged from the gap through a couple of grooves 3b and 3c of the photoconductor rod 3; light traveling in the 1st photoconductor rod 1 as shown by an arrow A is reflected by a slanting surface 2a to travel as shown by an arrow B and then enters the 4th photoconductor rod 4 when there is no oil in the gap. When the gap is filled with the optical oil, the light travels as shown by an arrow C, but the quantity of the light traveling as shown by the arrow B is adjusted by the amount of the optical oil in the gap.
