One-side zinc-plated steel sheet

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To obtain a one-side zinc-plated steel sheet with improved corrosion resistance and coatability as well as superior weldability and press formability by coating one side of a steel sheet with zinc, a chromium oxide hydrate film and a resin film of an org. high molecular compound. CONSTITUTION:One side of a steel sheet for a material for a car body or the like is electroplated with zinc or a zinc alloy. The plated surface is chromated to form a chromium oxide hydrate film. An aqueous soln. contg. a water-dispersible org. high molecular compound is applied to the chromium oxide hydrate film and dried to coat the film with a thin resin film. By coating with the three layers a one-size zinc-plated steel sheet with improved weldability and high suitability to phosphating is obtd. The steel sheet has superior adhesive strength to a paint film formed by electrodeposition coating or coating.
