Translating and editing system

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To reduce the load on an operator and to improve the efficiency of translating and editing operation in an automatic translating device which uses a computer system by retrieving the correspondence relation among words constituting each sentence and word groups on the basis of analyzed syntax structure. CONSTITUTION:For example, when a word group ''autameni'' in a Japanese translation 13 displayed on a display screen 11 together with an original sentence 12 in English is indicated with a cursor 14, a word group ''to meet'' corresponding to it is retrieved and indicated with a cursor 15. Therefore, an operator only indicates a word or word group to be checked to know the correspondence relation between the original sentence and translation, performing editing and proofreading operation easily.
