Thermal transfer type printing apparatus

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To make the ink subjected to thermal transfer printing hardly peelable and to obtain easily viewable printed matter rich in durability, by adhering a mount to the thermal transfer printing surface side of recording paper subjected to thermal transfer printing. CONSTITUTION:Transparent recording paper 13 having a smooth surface and heat resistance, for example, a polyester film and transfer paper 14 coated with heat meltable ink are sent between a thermal head 11 and a platen roller 12 and, after the heat meltable ink melted by the heat of a thermal head 11 is transferred to the recording paper 13, the recording paper 13 is superposed to an opaque mount 17 to be sent between heating rollers 15, 16 and adhered through an adhesive. Because there is no unevenness on the surface of printed matter and the ink is protected by the mount and the recording paper, the printed matter is excellent in durability and can be adjusted to a desired thickness convenient to handle and, therefore, handling is easy and printing information content becomes easily readable.
