Manufacture of color filter

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To execute an electrodeposition painting onto each electrode in different colors, and to form a fine pattern by painting each electrode separately in multi-color, by selecting an electrode by a conductive transparent thin film, which is provided on a transparent substrate, applying the voltage, and repeating the electrodeposition painting. CONSTITUTION:A stripe-like electrode 11 is formed by a conductive transparent thin film on a transparent substrate 10, a lead wire 12 is connected by selecting suitably, and thereafter, it is immersed into an electrodepositing paint containing resin, a pigment and other additives, and a direct current is made to flow by applying an electric field between said electrode and an opposed electrode 14. As a result, the resin which is dissolved or dispersed in the electrodepositing paint 13 becomes insoluble in water and is deposited on an object to be painted, namely, the electrode 11. Subsequently, the substrate 10 is drawn up from a bath 16, washed with water, and thereafter, the lead wire 12 is connected to an electrode selected suitably out of the electrodes 11 which are not painted, it is immersed into an electrodepositing paint containing different pigments, and other color is painted by electrodeposition. By repeating said process, painting layers of various colors are electrodeposited respectively on the electrodes, and a color filter is obtained.
