Seal ring

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To secure the high sealing property of the titled seal ring by a method wherein, in a seal construction inserting a seal ring made of a flexible elastic material into a circular groove fromed on a sealing surface, a bump is provided on the overall internal peripheral wall confronting with the external periphral wall of the circular groove of the seal ring. CONSTITUTION:In a construction wherein a clutch cover 2 of an engine for motor cycle is liquid-tightly fixed to a mission case 3 through the intermediary of a sealing material (seal ring) 1, the sealing material 1 is formed of a flexible elastic material such as rubber etc. into the same shape as that of a circular groove 202 provided on the circular sealing surface 201 of the cover 2. Besides the sealing material 1 is formed so that the intermediate part of the internal side wall 102 of the main body 101 with approximate rectangular section is provided with a bump 103 while upper and lower parts of the external side wall 106 are provided with bumps 109, 110 and the intermediate part of the other internal side wall 111 is further provided with a bump 112. Finally when the sealing material 1 is inserted into said groove 202 opening into taper shape to the open side, the bump 103 of the external side wall 102 may be projected from the sealing surface 201 up to the specified amount.
