Method for estimating coagulating position of molten metal in continuous hot dipping
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE:To improve the appearance of a product and to prevent the adhesion of a metal to be plated to a roll, by a method wherein the temp. of a steel strip, the temp. of a plating metal bath and the thickness and speed of the steel strip are used to calculate the temp. of the steel strip at the outlet side of the molten metal bath and the calculation of the solidification position of the molten metal is enabled. CONSTITUTION:A steel strip 2 annealed in an annealing furnace 1 is plated by the molten metal in a plating bath tank 4 and a plating amount to be adhered is adjusted by an air jet nozzle 7. In this case, the temps. of the steel strip at the outlet side of the furnace 1 and the molten metal and the thickness and speed of the steel strip 2 are measured and the temp. of the steel strip 2 at the outlet side of the molten metal is calculated. The solidifying position of the molten metal on the surface of the steel strip is estimated by the amount of heat taken from the steel strip 2 by air jet, sensible heat possessed by the steel strip 2 and the solidification sensible heat of the molten bath and the speed of the steel strip 2 is corrected.
