Room temperature-curable elastic composition

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:The titled moisture-curable resin composition excellent in weather resistance, heat resistance, and durability, comprising an acrylate ester monomer, a (meth)acryloxy group-containing alkoxysilyl component, and a mercapto group- containing chain transfer agent. CONSTITUTION:An acrylate ester monomer of formula I (wherein R1 is a 2-8C alkyl) is copolymerized with a (meth)acryloxy group-containing alkoxysilyl compound prepared by reacting a (meth)acrylate ester monomer of formula II with an alkoxysilyl compound of formula III, or prepared by reacting a compound of formula IV with a compound of formula V (wherein R2 and R5 are each H or methyl, A and C are each a functional group-containing group; R3 and R6 are each a bivalent hydrocarbon group; R4 and R7 are each a 1-4C alkyl; X and Y are each methoxy or ethoxy, B is a functional group reactive with group A; D is a functional group unreactive with group C; and a and b are each 0, 1, or 2), in the presence of a mercapto group-containing chain transfer agent (e.g., n-butyl mercaptan).
