Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To enlarge or reduce a picture in its subscanning direction at an optional ratio without spoiling the uniformity of the picture by adding a transmission mechanism part which sends an original uniformly and smoothly and a control part which sets and controls the speed of this transmission mechanism part optionally. CONSTITUTION:Some main scan on the original 1 is made through an optical lens 5 and its image is formed on the image-pickup surface of a CCD6, converted photoelectrically, and stored in a frame memory 10. A pulse motor 6, on the other hand, rotates at a speed determined by a control signal 8 outputted from a motor control part 9 to feed the original 1. At this time, a subscanning speed is made faster than usual by the signal 8. Consequently, the total number of scanning lines on the original 1 up to the end is less than usual and the image of the original 1 is reduced in the subscanning direction at the ratio conforming with the subscanning speed. Meanwhile, the subscanning speed is made slower than usual by the signal 8. Consequently, the total number of lines up to the scanning end of the original is greater than usual and the image of the original 1 is enlarged in the subscanning direction at the ratio determined by the subscanning speed.
