Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To measure unpleasant feeling degree caused by the flickering of the light output from a light source, by providing an operating part, which computes the index expressing the fluctuation in the light output, and providing a function converter, which outputs the value expressing the unpleasant feeling caused by the flickering. CONSTITUTION:The light from a light source 6, which is to become an object to be measured, is received by a first receiving part 7. Its output signal is held by a measuring part 9. The signal is converted into a digital value by a first A/D converter 11 from the analog value. An index expressing the fluctuation in the light output is computed by an operating part 12. The signal from a second light receiving part 8 obtains the illuminance of an object image to be observed through a second A/D converter 10. A function converter 13 outputs a value expressing the unplesant feeling degree caused by flickering based on the index expressing the fluctuation in the light output and the illuminance of the object image to be observed. A display part 14 displays the numerical value or character corresponding to the category of subjective evaluation of the unpleasant feeling degree caused by the flickering.
