Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To perform the step-up and step-down of a voltage by providing the first and second switch means to form a chopper device. CONSTITUTION:The first switch 21a and the second switch 21b are simultaneously opened or closed. When the switches 21a, 21b are closed, the current of a reactor 13 is increased in a circuit of a DC power source 10, the first switch 21a, a reactor 13, and the second switch 21b. At this time, the second diode 22b is blocked by applying the voltage of a condenser 14 thereto. Then, when the switches 21a, 21b are open, the current of the reactor 13 is flowed in a circuit of the reactor 13, the second diode 22b, the condenser 14, a load 15 and the first diode 22a, thereby charging the condenser 14. The ratio of the input voltage to the output voltage of a chopper device is proportional to the ratio of the ON period to the OFF period.
