Color filter manufacturing method

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To obtain a manufacturing method of an inexpensive color filter by employing an ink jetting method when trichromatic pigments are arranged on a substrate. CONSTITUTION:When pigments 5-7 of materials with good wettability to the substrate 1 of glass, etc., are used, a diffusion preventing pattern 2 is formed of a material with inferior wettability to the pigments 5-7 in order to prevent the pigments 5-7 from spreading out of their objective areas, and the pigments 5-7 are applied to the substrate 1 by the ink jetting method. The ink jetting method is employed frequently for printers and facilitates color printing. Therefore, this device is very suitable for the trichromatic pattern arrangement of a additive color mixing type color filter and the cost is made much less than that of a conventional method which performs a photoprocess three times.
