Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To provide a compsn. for a flocculating agent effective for removing extraneous contaminants existing in various forms in waste water, by incorporating a flocculating agent of cyanamide-formaldehyde polycondensate and a flocculating agent of aluminum chloride specified of Cl/Al molar ratio at specific compounding ratios. CONSTITUTION:A compsn. for a flocculating agent contg. a flocculating agent of the above-described polycondensate (A) and a flocculating agent of aluminum chloride of 3-10, more particularly 3-4 Cl/Al molar ratio (B) at 0.1-11, more particularly 0.25-3.0 based on solid weight (wherein the solid weight in terms of Al2O3 is used for the latter). The resulted product of condensation polymn. reaction of a cyanamide deriv. (e.g.; dicyandiamide) and HCHO is used for the above-described flocculating agent A. On the other hand, anhydrous and hydrous aluminum chloride, etc. are used for the agent B. The applications of such compsn. for the flocculating agent are extremely wide, and the compsn. is adaptable to the removal by flocculation of soluble extraneous materials having negative charge and suspendable solid extraneous materials having negative charge.
