Prolonged release type vasodilator
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE:A prolonged release type vasodilator, obtained by kneading a chemical having the vasodilator action with a thermoplastic or thermosetting resin, and if necessary integrally molding the resultant kneaded material with a medical member to be implanted in the human body, and useful particularly as a remedy for serotinus cerebrovascular twitch. CONSTITUTION:A prolonged release type vasodilator obtained by kneading a nontoxic chemical having the vasodilator action, e.g. papaverine hydrochloride or nicardipine hydrochloride, with a thermosetting resin, e.g. a silicone resin or cyanoacrylate resin, or thermoplastic resin, e.g. polystyrene resin, polyolefin resin or polyamide resin, and if necessary integrally molding the resultant kneaded material with a medical member to be implanted in the human body, e.g. a drainer tube. The mixing ratio of the chemical is 2-50wt%, and the kneading is carried out by using a kneading machine, e.g. a kneader, at 20-70 deg.C for 20min-2hr in the case of the thermosetting resin and for 30min-5hr in the case of the thermoplastic resin. 10-15kg/cm<2> strength is required for the resin to withstand the indwelling use in the human body.
