Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To provide a rubber compsn. having excellent wear resistance and large loss compliance, by incorporating a specified arom. vinyl compd./conjugated diene copolymer rubber obtd. by carrying out the polymn. in the presence of a lithium catalyst. CONSTITUTION:An arom. vinyl compd. such as styrene and a conjugated diene compd. such as 1,3-butadiene or isoprene are copolymerized in the presence of a lithium catalyst such as an alkyl lithium contg. a Lewis base added thereto to obtain a copolymer which has a bonded arom. vinyl compd. content of 15- 50wt% and in which the weight fraction of isoprene/butadiene in the bonded conjugated diene is 100/0-25/75, the sum of 1,2-bonded and 3,4-bonded isoprene contents is 40% or above and a 1,2-bonded butadiene content is 60% or above. 30-100wt% said copolymer and 70-0wt% other rubber such as natural rubber are blended together.
