Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To prevent contact of a hood to a chassis when the hood is closed and soften the impact and suppress generation of the accident with the dead and the injured, by the organic linking between a hood hinge link, hood damper, and a hood lock striker. CONSTITUTION:When a collision occurs, a load is transmitted to the ring part 11c of a hood hinge link 11, absorbed by an intermediate body 18 through a hood-side hinge pin. Said hinge link 11 is turned in the direction of arrow (b) around a chassis-side hinge pin 12 by the weight over a prescribed value, because of the presence of the hinge pin 12, and the long lever part 11b of the hood hinge link 11 pushes-up the rear edge part 14a of a hood 14 obliquely upward, revolving the ring part 11c through the peripheral part of the intermediate part. Therefore, the hood 14 performs displacement with its rear edge part 14a set upwardly, retreating obliquely, and the impact energy can be absorbed through the above-mentioned retreat.
