Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To detect the advance straight state and to eliminate erroneous decision at the turning, by obtaining the difference of speed signals for each pair of left and right wheels and deciding that the extra tire is being employed if the difference exceeds over predetermined level thereby releasing the anti-lock control. CONSTITUTION:The signals from speed detectors 1, 2 on the left and right wheels are counted by the counters 20, 21 with correspondence to the trigger signal 24 while the signals from the detectors 3, 4 on the left and right rear wheels are counted similarly by the counters 22, 23. Subtractors 25, 26 will calculate the speed difference between the pair of front and rear wheels which is compared with the referential level E1 in the comparators 27, 28 while with the referential level E2 in the comparators 29, 30. The outputs from said comparators are processed by OR gates 31, 32 and AND gates 33 to detect that only one small diameter tire is used. Since the usage of an extra tire can be detected even at the turning without detecting at the straight advancing, erroneous function of anti-lock control can be prevented reliably.
