Rotary electric machine

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To enable to continuously operate a rotary electric machine even if one air cooler becomes defective by communicating the first and second suction holes formed at the left and right sides of a stator frame via a duct and balancing the cooling effects at the left and right sides. CONSTITUTION:The air of the side of one of the first and second air coolers 13a, 13b, becoming defective is shut off by the first and second dampers 16a, 16b, and suction holes 11a, 11b provided at the left and right of a stator frame 4 are allowed to communicate via a duct 17. In a normal operation state, the ventilations of the left and right sides of a rotary electric machine are not unbalanced, and local overheat can be eliminated. If any of the coolers 13a, 13b become defective or loses its cooling function due to interruption of water, continuous operation can be executed by closing any of the dampers 16a, 16b of the side being defective.
