magneto-optical recording medium
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE:To enable easy formation of a guide track by irradiation of ordinary laser light on a medium providing a light reflective thermomeltable layer on a transmittable substrate and further providing successively a magnetic film layer, a film layer having a high refractive index and reflection film layer thereon. CONSTITUTION:An optomagnetic recoding medium is produced by providing successively a light reflective thermomeltable layer 2, a magnetic film layer 3, a film layer 4 having a high refractive index and a reflection film layer 5 on a substrate 1. A guide track is formed by irradiating laser light to the optomagnetic recording medium constituted in such a way by which the light reflective thermomeltable layer is sublimated or melted off as shown in the figure. Since the magnetic film layer is set at 5-50nm film thickness at which the light transmission is possible, the laser light past the guide hole passes partly through the thin magnetic film and is reflected and returned by the reflection film. As a result, the light R1 reflected from the layer 2 and the combined reflected light R2 of the light reflected from the layer 3 and the light of the reflection film attain the relation R1>R2.
