Contour pattern recognizing system

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To simplify the position relation, by adding a flag showing the tracking order to plural closed loops extracted out of binary coded pictures of plural matters and then adding a flag showing the relation with front and back contour points while tracking counterclockwise the contour point. CONSTITUTION:When three closed loops (l), (m) and (n) exist as shown in the figure, an intersection Pj is obtained by having a horizontal scan to the left from a start point S at the upper part of the loop (m). A back link flag aj larger than a front link flag bj is obtained from a loop number flag (l) and link flags aj and bj showing the adjacent relation between front and back contour points Pj-1 and Pj+1 in case the loop is tracked counterclockwise with the loop (l). The loops (l) and (m) are independent of each other. At the same time, bi>ai is satisfied in the same way for a point Pi after having a scan from the point S with the loop (n). Thus it is understood that the loop (n) is included in the loop (m), and therefore the position relation can be easily made clear for a closed loop on a screen.
