Device address setting device

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To set addresses of plural devices connected to a bus with use of software, by providing a register to a device address setting device to fetch the device address outputted from a CPU. CONSTITUTION:A CPU turns the device type data and the device address into serial data and delivers this data in a daisy chain system to an interface circuit 3r via a specific signal line of the bus 2 and based on a table set previously. At the circuit 3r, a comparator 22 compares the device type data given from the CPU and the data of a device type register 21 as long as no data is stored yet in a device address register 12. If the coincidence is obtained from this comparison, the device address sent from the CPU is stored in the register 12. Then an address is set.
