Device for arresting fine grain within exhaust gas of diesel engine
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE:To increase the ignition efficiency and combustion efficiency of a Diesel engine, reduce the radiation loss of an electic heater and prevent deterioration of the mechanical strength of the engine by providing a groove at a position at which the fine grain arresting density becomes maximum and disposing an electric heater in the groove. CONSTITUTION:The titled device is provided with a filter member 4 which arrests fine particles within the exhaust gas from an engine, and an electric heater 5 for heating and burning fine grains thus arrested. The filter member 4 consists of a main body 40 and a stationary member 42 coupled to the main body 40. The main body 40 of the filter member is provided with a groove 60 in the end surface of which the electric heater 5 can be inserted. After disposing the electric heater 5 along the groove 60, the stationary member 42 having a predetermined thickness is bonded to the filter member 40.
