Manufacture of electrodeposition coating

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To obtain an electrodeposition coating continuously in a short time, by applying an ultrafiltration, etc. to a water-dispersed type varnish to increase its liquid resistivity, then elimnating miscellaneous ions, followed by carrying out a formulation by incorporating the resultant varnish with both mica powder and water. CONSTITUTION:The tank 1 as a treating equipment is charged with a water-dispersed type varnish (prepared by dispersing an acid-added epoxy resin in a warm water containing cmmonia, followed by blowing a nitrogen gas) and an ion exchange water. The resultant mixture is fed to the permeable membrane 7 by a pump 4a, then separated into a concentrated liquid and a permeated one. The former, namely, the concentrated varnish, is returned to the tank 1; on the other hand, the latter is regenerated by an ion exchange resin 8 into purified water, and temporarily stored in a tank 10. This regenerated water 11 is returned to the tank 1 by a pump 4b. After repeating the above process several times, the resultant varnish is incorporated with mica powder and water, followed by agitating, thus obaining the objective electrodeposition coating.
