Photomagnetic recording medium
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE:To obtain a photomagnetic recording medium having superior photomagnetic characteristics and causing no oxidation, no corrosion and no deterioration in the magnetic characteristics by forming a magnetic thin layer using iron oxide contg. substituted specified metals. CONSTITUTION:A ferromagnetic oxide represented by formula I [where Me is Ba, Pb, Sr or Sc; M is Co, Mn, Ni, Ti or the like; p=x+y (y may be 0); 1.2<= p<=2] or by formula II (where 0.75<=z<=1.3), e.g., BaCoxTixFe2-xO19 (1.2<=x<= 2.0) is used. A magnetic thin layer 2 of about 100-30,000Angstrom thickness made of said compound, a transparent dielectric layer 3 of about 1,000-5,000Angstrom thickness, and a reflecting layer 4 of about 500-10,000Angstrom thickness made of Cu, Au, Al or the like are succesively laminated on a transparent substrate 1 such as a glass plate to obtain a photomagnetic recording medium. An oxidation inhibiting layer 5 may be formed on the layer 4.
